General Introduction
Sun Yat-sen University was founded in 1924 by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the great pioneer of the Chinese democratic revolution. It is one of the China’s highest ranked multi-disciplinary institutions, marked by a unique combination of history, prestige, and beauty.
As an engaging community, SYSU is dedicated to the prominence in teaching and learning. SYSU faculty members devote themselves both to students and to academic research, pursuing the comprehensive development of the whole society.
Approximately 83,000 students attend SYSU, among which 3,200 are international students from over 100 countries. SYSU has more than 50 alumni organizations around the world.
